Part of what makes Green Valley so special is Green Valley Recreation, Inc. (GVR). A private, nonprofit corporation operating 13 recreation centers which gives GVR’s 23,000+ members unlimited possibilities for play, leisure and learning in this active adult community. GVR members represent 76.7% of Green Valley’s population of 30,000.
Leisure activities and amenities offered by GVR are unmatched by any other active adult community in the world. GVR members have access to 13 centers’ pools and spas, six fitness centers, tennis, pickleball and other sports venues, over 1,000 continuing education classes, and lectures, 65 GVR Clubs of various interests, and year-round GVR Live! performing arts entertainment in GVR’s West Center for Performing Arts.
Membership in GVR is available by purchasing a deed-restricted GVR residential property or by voluntarily deed-restricting a home in an HOA within GVR’s boundaries. Members pay a modest initial fee, and then a reasonable annual fee.

Madera Canyon
Located in the Santa Rita Mts. east of Green Valley, home to many plants and animals rare in the U.S. Also one of the bird-watching hot spots. Picnic areas and campground. Continental Road east, turn right on White House Canyon Road and follow paved road. (15 miles from Green Valley)
Titan II Missile Museum
Only remaining Titan II complex just as it was during the Cold War. Guided tours of missile complex including silo. Located on the north side of Green Valley off Duval Mine Road. Admission Fee. Call 625-7736 for reservations.
Historic Hacienda de la Canoa
Visit historic buildings and corrals, and learn about the people of Canoa. Visit the newly restored lake where a portion of the classic film, ‘Oklahoma!’ was made.
